Dennoch brauchen sie einen zuverl\u00e4ssigen Weg, um zu erkennen, wann die Aktivit\u00e4ten eines Unternehmens wirklich gr\u00fcn sind und wann sie <em>Greenwashing<\/em> - die Behauptung, dass ihre Produkte, Dienstleistungen und Initiativen der Umwelt zugute kommen, obwohl sie es nicht tun.<\/p>\n<p>Die entscheidende Frage, was gr\u00fcn ist und was nicht, war bisher schwer endg\u00fcltig und verbindlich zu beantworten. In diesem Punkt hat die Europ\u00e4ische Union <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.ec.europa.eu\/sustainable-finance\/tools-and-standards\/eu-taxonomy-sustainable-activities_en\" target=\"_blank\">Taxonomie<\/a> tritt ein.<\/p>\n<p>Die Taxonomie, die 2020 als Teil der europ\u00e4ischen Green-Deal-Strategie der EU zur Erreichung der Klimaneutralit\u00e4t der gesamten Wirtschaft bis 2050 eingef\u00fchrt wurde, verwendet objektive, weitgehend wissenschaftlich fundierte Kriterien zur Identifizierung nachhaltiger Gesch\u00e4ftsaktivit\u00e4ten. Am wichtigsten ist, dass sie den Begriff \"gr\u00fcn per Gesetz\" einf\u00fchrt: Unternehmen k\u00f6nnen nicht einfach behaupten, dass ihre Aktivit\u00e4ten gr\u00fcn sind, sondern m\u00fcssen nachweisen, dass sie die geltenden EU-Benchmarks erf\u00fcllen. Das kann ein wirksamer Schutz gegen Greenwashing sein. Gro\u00dfe Unternehmen, die in erheblichem Umfang in der EU t\u00e4tig sind, wozu auch viele US-amerikanische Konzerne geh\u00f6ren werden, m\u00fcssen \u00fcber ihre Aktivit\u00e4ten im Rahmen der Taxonomie Bericht erstatten.<\/p>\n<p>Die Taxonomie soll in erster Linie den Kapitalm\u00e4rkten und anderen Investoren Klarheit verschaffen und legt Kriterien f\u00fcr die Nachhaltigkeit von mehr als 150 Wirtschaftst\u00e4tigkeiten fest, wie z. B. die Herstellung von Autos, den Betrieb eines Rechenzentrums, den Betrieb einer Wasseraufbereitungsanlage oder die Stromerzeugung. Sie stellt den Unternehmen zwei Fragen: Tr\u00e4gt eine Ihrer T\u00e4tigkeiten zu den Nachhaltigkeitszielen der EU bei, und f\u00fchren Sie diese T\u00e4tigkeiten auf nachhaltige Weise durch?<\/p>\n<p>Um im Rahmen der Taxonomie als gr\u00fcn zu gelten, muss eine Aktivit\u00e4t bestimmte Benchmarks erf\u00fcllen, die den Fortschritt in Richtung der sechs Nachhaltigkeitsziele des Green Deal zeigen: (1) Eind\u00e4mmung des Klimawandels und (2) Anpassung an den Klimawandel, (3) Beitrag zu einer Kreislaufwirtschaft, (4) nachhaltige Nutzung von Wasser- und Meeresressourcen, (5) Vermeidung und Kontrolle von Umweltverschmutzung und (6) Schutz und Wiederherstellung der biologischen Vielfalt von \u00d6kosystemen. Um als umweltfreundlich zu gelten, d\u00fcrfen beispielsweise die Treibhausgasemissionen eines Zementherstellers f\u00fcr jede Tonne produzierten Zements einen bestimmten Wert nicht \u00fcberschreiten. Die Herstellung von Autos gilt nur dann als umweltfreundlich, wenn die hergestellten Fahrzeuge keine Auspuffemissionen verursachen.
