Al anunciar la estrategia el domingo, el director de Higiene Ambiental y Alimentaria, Donald Ng Man-kit, dijo que el gobierno considerar\u00eda intensificar las medidas de control de mosquitos con un umbral m\u00e1s bajo, ya que la poblaci\u00f3n de mosquitos de la ciudad aument\u00f3 m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidamente este mes.<\/p>\n
El primer caso de dengue registrado localmente desde 2024 se inform\u00f3 la semana pasada, el de un hombre de 21 a\u00f1os que fue picado por mosquitos cerca de un sitio de construcci\u00f3n de una carretera en Penny's Bay, en la isla de Lantau.<\/p>\n
Las autoridades han llevado a cabo control de mosquitos y otras medidas preventivas en el lugar y sus alrededores.<\/p>\n
Al explicar el plan en una entrevista televisada, Ng dijo que al infectar a los machos con una bacteria designada, cualquier cr\u00eda producida despu\u00e9s del apareamiento no alcanzar\u00eda la madurez.<\/p>\n
