p\u00e9troli\u00e8re actuelle est une chose ; <\/p>   <p>La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de recherche ind\u00e9pendante Rystad Energy a estim\u00e9 qu\u2019il faudrait 183 milliards de dollars sur plus d\u2019une d\u00e9cennie pour restaurer la production p\u00e9troli\u00e8re v\u00e9n\u00e9zu\u00e9lienne \u00e0 son niveau des ann\u00e9es 1990, soit plus que tripler par rapport \u00e0 son taux actuel de moins d\u2019un million de barils par jour.<\/p>   <aside id=\"ad-backstage-wrap\" class=\"ad-wrap backstage\" aria-label=\"publicit\u00e9\">\n    \n\n    \n\n\n    \n<\/aside>\n   <p>Et les entreprises pourraient h\u00e9siter \u00e0 se pr\u00e9cipiter \u2013 ou plut\u00f4t \u00e0 se pr\u00e9cipiter <em>dos <\/em>Chevron est la seule compagnie p\u00e9troli\u00e8re am\u00e9ricaine encore active au Venezuela ; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2026\/01\/04\/nx-s1-5665795\/trump-us-oil-companies-venezuela\" target=\"_blank\">command\u00e9 le Venezuela<\/a> pour rembourser Exxon et Conoco, une facture qui reste pour l'essentiel impay\u00e9e.<\/p>   <p>Les gisements p\u00e9troliers du Venezuela, autrefois prosp\u00e8res, sont en proie \u00e0 des coupures d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, \u00e0 des pipelines corrod\u00e9s et \u00e0 des \u00e9quipements vol\u00e9s. <em>profit <\/em>des \u00e9normes investissements n\u00e9cessaires pour stimuler la production ?<\/p>   <p>Pour l\u2019instant, les grandes compagnies p\u00e9troli\u00e8res n\u2019ont pas indiqu\u00e9 publiquement ce qu\u2019elles envisageaient de faire et ont refus\u00e9 de commenter cette histoire.<\/p>   <p>Mais les analystes estiment que les entreprises doivent \u00e9valuer si la situation politique au Venezuela se stabilisera suffisamment pour qu'elles soient \u00e0 nouveau pr\u00eates \u00e0 engager des milliards de dollars dans des projets \u00e0 long terme.<\/p>   <h3 class=\"edTag\">Surabondance de p\u00e9trole et prix bas\u00a0<\/h3>   <p>L\u2019un des principaux facteurs \u00e0 l\u2019origine du probl\u00e8me math\u00e9matique est qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019heure actuelle, le monde produit plus de p\u00e9trole qu\u2019il n\u2019en a besoin.<\/p>   <aside id=\"ad-secondary-wrap\" class=\"ad-wrap secondary\" aria-label=\"publicit\u00e9\">\n    \n\n    \n\n\n    \n<\/aside>\n   <p>\"Si cela semble beaucoup\", dit Book, \"\u00e7a l'est.\"<\/p>   <p>Et parce que l\u2019offre mondiale de p\u00e9trole est sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 la demande, les prix mondiaux du brut sont assez bas ;<\/p>   <p>Pendant ce temps, le prix d'\u00e9quilibre pour les projets au Venezuela qui g\u00e9n\u00e8rent des b\u00e9n\u00e9fices est plut\u00f4t de 80 dollars, selon Claudio Galimberti, \u00e9conomiste en chef de Rystad Energy.<\/p>   <p>\"Ces entreprises n'iraient pas l\u00e0-bas si elles savaient que le seuil de rentabilit\u00e9 est de 80 dollars le baril et que les perspectives sont que pour les deux, trois ou quatre prochaines ann\u00e9es, les prix du p\u00e9trole resteront entre 60 et 70 dollars le baril\", explique Galimberti.<\/p>   <p>Les entreprises ont \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectives dans leurs investissements ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, entreprises qui se posent les questions en premier.<\/p>   <p>Cela ne veut pas dire qu\u2019ils n\u2019investiront pas.<\/p>   <h3 class=\"edTag\">Brut lourd et visqueux\u00a0<\/h3>   <p>Une autre variable dans ce probl\u00e8me math\u00e9matique : le type de p\u00e9trole brut qui est abondant au Venezuela est plut\u00f4t d\u00e9licat.<\/p>   <p>\"C'est l'un des bruts les plus lourds et les plus d\u00e9cennies, ces raffineries ont investi dans une technologie co\u00fbteuse pour le raffiner, en raison de leur proximit\u00e9 g\u00e9ographique avec le Venezuela, le Mexique et le Canada, toutes sources de brut lourd.<\/p>   <aside id=\"ad-third-wrap\" class=\"ad-wrap third\" aria-label=\"publicit\u00e9\">\n    \n\n    \n\n\n    \n<\/aside>\n   <p>Puis la r\u00e9volution du schiste s\u2019est produite et les \u00c9tats-Unis ont \u00e9t\u00e9 inond\u00e9s de p\u00e9trole brut l\u00e9ger et non corrosif qui ne n\u00e9cessite pas cette technologie.<\/p>   <p>Aujourd\u2019hui, selon le groupe commercial am\u00e9ricain Fuel &amp; Petrochemical Manufacturers, 70 % de la capacit\u00e9 de raffinage am\u00e9ricaine est optimis\u00e9e pour le brut lourd \u2013 alors que la grande majorit\u00e9 de la production am\u00e9ricaine est <em>lumi\u00e8re <\/em>brut.<\/p>   <p>Une partie de cette technologie sophistiqu\u00e9e sera donc gaspill\u00e9e.<\/p>   <h3 class=\"edTag\">Un regard vers
